Never been tempted to try to cook it.Galina Vhttp://www.chezmaximka.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-67533674940244676422011-11-19T18:39:28.900+00:002011-11-19T18:39:28.900+00:00That was just so entertaining! That book by Shirley Goode brought back memories, she used to be the money saving guru in the late 80s and into the 90s.Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04854564777269577428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-5558435182690641352011-02-23T08:48:28.611+00:002011-02-23T08:48:28.611+00:00Really enjoyed reading about your life through the...Really enjoyed reading about your life through the medium of cookbooks! You've always been so helpful when I've come online with daft cookery questions and now I know why! You've inspired me with the chicken and a can o beer recipe (think it was beer?) so may try it, suspect OH may try to stop me tweeting to you though....you are a bad influence ;O)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-12451361414573857372011-02-22T16:37:38.352+00:002011-02-22T16:37:38.352+00:00I really enjoyed reading your blog. I also collected a magazine series when I was in my late teens called Nice 'n' Easy. From memory it came out every 2 weeks. My dad use to bring it home for me and always looked forward to reading through it and trying out the recipes. I still have them - all 7 folders of them! - but still get so much enjoyment from looking through them. One of my favourite recipes from the series is Cheesy Spaghetti Bake and it has now become a firm favourite with my children. I wonder if they will end up cooking it for their children should they decide to become parents themselves.friendofmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14001778235027005767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-33890055765089379942011-02-20T00:10:35.832+00:002011-02-20T00:10:35.832+00:00great fun to read Jane. I noticed a few books there that I still use myself like Shirley Goodes books - they were invaluable to me when I left home and had no money to cook with. Its really interesting to hear about your life. Were you doing competitions then or did it all start much later?

GillianGillian Thompsonhttp://www.floridavillawithpool.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-39999252562608849372011-02-19T14:41:06.425+00:002011-02-19T14:41:06.425+00:00A super article. I made a few attempts when I first married (38 years ago - eek!) but my husband turned his nose up each time then decided to take over that side of house keeping completely when I even spoilt a "boil in the bag" meal!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880616829755966948.post-85531639602473432842011-02-18T14:46:25.631+00:002011-02-18T14:46:25.631+00:00A most enjoyable read, Jane.
